1. Overview
SmartFind AI is a Shopify application provided by Pristinit Solutions that helps merchants improve storefront product discovery through AI-assisted search, search analytics, synonyms and related terms, search rules, search ranking controls, and search optimization tools.
This Privacy Policy explains what information SmartFind AI may collect, receive, use, store, and delete when a merchant installs or uses the application. We use information only as necessary to provide, secure, maintain, and improve the service, subject to applicable law and Shopify requirements.
2. Information We Collect
Merchant and store information: We may receive the Shopify store domain, app installation and session information, Shopify shop identifiers, and other store-level information made available through Shopify APIs that is necessary to operate and secure the application.
Product information: SmartFind AI may synchronize authorized product information such as product ID, title, handle, vendor, product type, status, and other product fields required for product search, indexing, ranking, analytics, and related functionality.
Search and usage information: We may process search terms, search-result information, timestamps, store identifiers, and related technical or interaction information needed to provide search analytics, identify zero-result or low-engagement searches, and improve search configuration and product discovery.
App configuration: We may store merchant-created synonyms, related terms, search rules, ranking preferences, search settings, AI-generated suggestions, and other configuration needed to operate the service.
Technical and security information: We may process limited request metadata, IP address, browser or device information, application logs, error information, authentication information, and timestamps when reasonably necessary for authentication, security, troubleshooting, fraud prevention, monitoring, and reliability.
Information received through Shopify: SmartFind AI may receive information through Shopify APIs, authentication mechanisms, webhooks, and storefront app-proxy requests. SmartFind AI currently does not request access to Shopify customer or order resources through its configured API permissions.
3. How We Use Information
We use information to authenticate merchants and maintain secure sessions; synchronize authorized product data; provide AI-assisted product search; provide search analytics and opportunity insights; provide synonyms, related terms, typo correction, search rules, and ranking controls; process and display search results; monitor application performance; troubleshoot errors; enforce plan limits; maintain application security; communicate about support, security, and service changes; and comply with applicable legal and Shopify platform requirements.
4. AI Processing
SmartFind AI uses third-party artificial intelligence services, including the OpenAI API, for certain features such as generating search suggestions, synonyms, related terms, classifications, insights, and other AI-assisted functionality.
When an AI-powered feature is used, SmartFind AI may send information reasonably necessary for that feature, such as search-related terms, product information, or other relevant application data, to the applicable AI service provider for processing.
SmartFind AI does not intentionally use merchant or shopper personal information to train a general-purpose AI model. OpenAI states that data submitted through its API is not used to train its models by default unless the API customer explicitly opts in to data sharing.
We take reasonable steps to limit information sent to AI service providers to information necessary for the requested functionality.
5. Data Sharing and Service Providers
We may use service providers for Shopify platform services, cloud hosting, database storage, backups, monitoring, artificial intelligence processing, billing infrastructure, security, and technical support. These providers process information only as necessary to provide services to SmartFind AI.
SmartFind AI uses Shopify for the Shopify platform and application integration, Railway for application hosting and database infrastructure, and OpenAI for applicable AI-powered functionality.
We do not sell merchant or shopper personal information. We do not use Shopify store data for unrelated advertising purposes.
6. Data Storage and International Transfers
SmartFind AI stores application data using third-party cloud infrastructure, including application hosting and database infrastructure provided through Railway. Data may be processed or stored in a country different from the merchant or shopper's country.
SmartFind AI may also transmit limited information to third-party service providers, including OpenAI, when required to provide applicable AI-powered functionality.
Where information is transferred internationally, we take reasonable steps to use safeguards required by applicable law.
7. Data Retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide SmartFind AI, maintain security and service integrity, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet applicable Shopify requirements.
Merchant configuration and product data are generally retained while the app is installed and providing the service. Search analytics may be retained according to the applicable SmartFind AI plan and application configuration.
When a merchant uninstalls SmartFind AI, store-associated data is handled through Shopify's applicable privacy and redaction mechanisms and our internal deletion procedures, subject to data that we are legally permitted or required to retain.
8. Privacy Requests and Data Deletion
Merchants may contact us at smartfindai@pristinit.com regarding privacy questions, data access, correction, deletion, or other privacy requests.
We may verify the identity and authority of the requester before completing a request.
For Shopify-distributed applications, SmartFind AI supports Shopify's required data privacy and compliance mechanisms, including applicable data access and deletion requests and mandatory compliance webhooks.
9. Shopify Privacy and Compliance
SmartFind AI operates on the Shopify platform and receives information through Shopify APIs, authentication mechanisms, webhooks, and storefront app-proxy functionality.
SmartFind AI requests only the Shopify permissions reasonably necessary to provide its functionality. The application is designed primarily to process store, product, search, configuration, and application data.
SmartFind AI supports Shopify's required privacy compliance processes, including requests relating to customer data and shop data where applicable.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. Measures may include HTTPS/TLS, authenticated access, access controls, secure credential handling, logging, database security, and infrastructure security.
No internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.
11. Cookies and Storefront Technologies
SmartFind AI may process request parameters, browser or device information, application session information, and similar technical information when merchants or shoppers interact with the storefront search experience.
SmartFind AI's storefront functionality may use Shopify's app proxy, request parameters, browser storage, cookies, or similar technologies where required by the specific implementation. Any persistent tracking technologies introduced as part of future functionality will be reflected in an updated version of this Privacy Policy where required.
12. Children's Privacy
SmartFind AI is a business application intended for merchants and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children for the purpose of providing the application.
13. Third-Party Services and Links
SmartFind AI may depend on third-party services for hosting, database infrastructure, artificial intelligence, authentication, analytics, billing, security, or other infrastructure.
Third-party service providers may process information on our behalf under their applicable terms, privacy policies, and contractual obligations.
14. Privacy Rights
Depending on applicable law, individuals may have rights relating to their personal information, including the right to request access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, or other rights provided by applicable privacy laws.

15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when SmartFind AI changes, when our data practices change, or when required by law or platform requirements. The updated version will be published at the same public URL with a revised Last Updated date.
